AAU ARTS & TECH
Facilitating the integration of SDGs and urban sustainable solutions to Arts & Tech students from AAU.
INGA members collaborated with Anthony Lewis Brooks (Tony) to support 4th-semester students at Art &Technology students to inspire and motivate students on integrating sustainability within their semester projects and how to use their installations to address and raise awareness about global environmental and climate-related challenges at the local level.
Each spring semester, ART&TECH students create art installations at Karolinelund park. One of the core elements that students have to take into consideration is how to design and build with sustainability as a core issue. Our team held a presentation on how INGA has been using the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) as a tool in their projects. They also presented solid tools and methodologies that could be used by students that can be used when including sustainability into their own art projects. They inspired students on how to engage communities through placemaking and tactical urbanism, as well as how to include the concept of circular economy within their design process.
The presentation opened up a very interesting discussion between students, INGA members, and Tony who coordinated this visit.
